Domestic Decade
When I started potting in 1995 I thought I'd make domesticware for ten years and then start making other works.
1995- 2005
This exhibition marks that point for me. I wanted to express my life in Marlborough using domesticware as my medium: A sense of place, stability of home and friends, the celebration of my relationships, the strong sense of community, and the changing environment.
My passion for domesticware arose from my wanting to celebrate the undervalued ordinary day, filled with our ordinary habits and rituals - this ordinariness ... so precious and fragile - established over a lifetime.
